This is review of Bandai action figure Sentai series SHFiguarts (Shinkocchou Seihou) Gokai Red from Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger series.

The first true bone carving in Sentai is a remarkable achievement. Similar to the Kamen Rider series, this figure accurately captures the proportions of the suit as seen in the show. The intricate detailing of the wrinkles adds a realistic touch to the overall design.

Head

Compared to the previous version, the current version features a significantly larger head size, giving it a more distinctive appearance. The overall form and details of the figure are sharply defined, resulting in a more visually striking design. The gold lines, such as the pirate mark on the forehead and the rim of the eyes, have been meticulously painted with great accuracy. Additionally, the color of the gold elements has been noticeably altered, providing a fresh and updated look compared to the previous version.

Body

Similar to the true value of the Kamen Rider series, the body of this figure showcases a plump shape, adding to its unique appeal. The pirate mark on the chest and the application of red gold paint have been executed with great attention to detail. The molding of the buckle has also been improved, resulting in a more precise and refined appearance compared to the previous version.

Arms and Legs

Despite being slimmer than the Kamen Rider suit, the current version of the figure has undergone significant improvements. It now features a thicker build that closely resembles the suit from the show. The intricate detailing of the wrinkles, especially on the back, adds to the overall realism of the figure.

Notably, the figure offers excellent articulation, allowing for a wide range of movement in the neck, waist, shoulders, elbows, knees, and hip joints. The collar and hem are made of a soft material, and there are no apparent concerns about paint coming off. The pirate mark on the back of the collar is perfectly painted, adding to the overall attention to detail.

Weaponry and Accessories Option set

The appearance of the Gokai Saber has been greatly improved compared to the old version. The blade and handle now feature additional painting, enhancing their overall look. The GokaiGun has also been made more realistic in terms of size and form. This new version includes closed mobilates, which were not included in the previous version. The modeling has been updated, and the colors of the buttons have been faithfully reproduced. The ranger key is included in both ranger mode and key mode.

Furthermore, a small ranger key for insertion is included, which can be loaded into the Gokai Saber with the cylinder raised, the Gokai Gun, or inserted into the hole in the center of the closed or open Mobilates.

Since the release of the previous version, there has been a gap of more than 10 years, resulting in significant evolution. While the TwoKaiser may not be the true value, this recent version closely matches its body shape.

Movability and Articulation

The figure is equipped with weapons in both hands, allowing for dynamic posing options. Unlike the old version, there is no special part for folding arms included in this version. As mentioned earlier, the figure offers good movement and the joints have a moderate level of hardness. The soft material used for the collar and hem ensures that even if there is interference, the figure doesn't move violently, reducing the risk of paint peeling off. Kneeling poses can be achieved naturally due to the legs' ability to rise high.

While the ankles are small, the figure can still maintain stability and stand on one leg. The movement of the final wave can be replicated closely to one's imagination. The figure's craftsmanship, including the ranger key, is precise and well-executed.

Gimmicks such as plugging into mobiles are perfectly implemented. The Gokai Darin bonus from the old version can be used seamlessly without any discomfort.

Summary

Gokaiger has a comprehensive lineup of old series, and recently there have been occasional opportunities to see Ten Gokaiger and other works make guest appearances.

Similar to the real Shinkocchou Seihou of Kamen Rider, the figure's proportions and form closely resemble the actual suit, and the details and wrinkles have been executed with even greater precision. The accessories have undergone significant improvements in terms of appearance and gimmicks, resulting in a perfect content package.
