REVIEW SHFiguarts (Shinkocchou Seihou) Kamen Rider Birth, Bandai
This is review of Bandai action figure Masked Rider SHFiguarts (Shinkocchou Seihou) Kamen Rider Birth from Kamen Rider OOO series.
Bandai SHFiguarts (Shinkocchou Seihou) Kamen Rider Birth Review
This figure offers great value and surpasses the previous version with its improved sculpt and more natural body shape. The details of the capsule have also been enhanced, featuring some holographic processing.
Head
The head sculpt has a thicker outline compared to the old version, and the shape of the visor has been adjusted to better resemble the character from the show. The paint application on the mask part is accurate, and the top of the head features holographic processing, which changes color depending on the angle of light. The figure also includes an alternate head with a light-emitting effect, where only the visor part is red. Unlike the metallic finish of the old version, the visor is now painted with a normal red color.
Body
The body has been sculpted with increased thickness and width, closely resembling the suit from the show. The green color is slightly brighter compared to the old version. The birth driver belt is also detailed, and the handle on the right side now features plated paint. A medal can be loaded into the left slot.
Arms and Legs
The balance and proportions of the arms and legs have been adjusted to better match the actual suit. The shape of the armor has also been slightly modified.
Option Set and Accessories
The medals are included in the same runner format as those of Kamen Rider OOO and need to be cut out. The capsule is made of clear plastic, and the details have been improved compared to the previous version. The capsule is removable and can be attached to the front or top of the figure. The overall size of the figure is similar to the SHFiguarts Kamen Rider Ozu.
Movability and Articulation
The figure's articulation is on par with recent releases in the Rider Arts series. The neck and waist can be rotated, and the joints are stiff, stable, and independent. However, the figure lacks shoulder drawers, and there is some interference between the chin and collar area, limiting movement in that region.
The Birth Buster weapon is included and is large and powerful. It comes with a handle for holding the medal. The figure poses naturally, including in kneeling positions. There is also a cell burst accessory with a luminous head. The figure's hands are designed to grip the capsules, although it would have been nice to have a regular gripping hand option as well. It's a great figure to pair with Kamen Rider Ozu for some dynamic poses.
Summary
The Bandai SHFiguarts Kamen Rider Birth figure features realistic proportions that closely resemble the suit from the show. The head and belt have been improved in terms of detail. While the figure's articulation is not exceptional, it feels solid and reliable. The included options such as the light-emitting head and Birth Buster weapon are well-made and add value to the figure. Overall, I have no complaints about the content of this figure.
