Bandai action figure SHFiguarts Boost Striker Review
This is a review of the SHFiguarts Boost Striker, the bike summoned when using the Boost Raise Buckle. The color scheme primarily features red, matching the Boost theme.
Design and Detailing
The bike is quite large, in proportion to the Geats figure, and gives off an impressive sense of scale. As always, the fine details are meticulously crafted.
Side View
It stands on its own with the included stand. Although the bike is known for its transformation feature, this specific figure doesn't include any transformation gimmicks.
Front and Rear View
The handlebars and front wheel are linked, and there’s a suspension mechanism in the rear wheel, consistent with previous releases.
Top and Bottom View
There is no direct stand hole this time either, so when you want to display it airborne, you can use the included joint.
Close-Up Details
The Geats logo is printed on the cowl, and the front light is made of clear parts. As usual, the instrument panel has a simple design.
The body is intricately detailed, with exposed springs giving it a unique look. The color matches Geats' main body, with the white parts featuring a pearl finish.
The seat is molded in the usual plastic color, and the gradient on the exhaust pipe is carefully reproduced.
Front and Rear Tires
As always, the tires are well detailed, both on the front and rear.
Accessories
It comes with handle-grip hands, a base, and a stand joint.
Scale Comparison
When compared to the on-screen version, the bike is slightly smaller in size, but not enough to be a distraction.
Posing with Geats
Since Geats has a pull-out hip joint, it’s easy to position him on the bike. It’s a smooth process, although recreating deep poses like those in the show is a bit challenging.
Comparison with Previous Models
When compared to the previous Goldash, this figure doesn’t have as much bulk, though the overall length is roughly the same.
Action Poses
Thanks to the bike's smooth articulation and design, various dynamic poses can be achieved:
- Punch while riding the bike.
- Riding in Magnum Boost Form works well despite the slightly bulkier legs.
- Jumping is easy with the included stand joint.
- Shooting while airborne.
Additional Forms
The bike pairs especially well with Fever Boost Form, where the red color theme creates a cohesive and fitting look.
Summary
To summarize, the SHFiguarts Boost Striker lives up to expectations. While slightly smaller than its on-screen counterpart, its silhouette, engine detailing, and color scheme align perfectly with the Geats figure, creating a sense of unity when displayed together.
The lack of a transformation gimmick is understandable for an SHFiguarts bike, and the stand joint makes dynamic displays easy. Overall, there’s little to criticize here.
With both the Geats and Gotchard bikes now released, it’s intriguing that Saber and Revice's bikes were skipped. Hopefully, they will eventually make an appearance!
