The sculpt is new, but the base is the same as Mebius. The predominantly blue color scheme contrasts well with Mebius and matches the character's image. The rough armor of the Arbgear is recreated with a textured finish.
Head
The head is covered by the Arbgear, hiding the eyes. The crest and ear parts are sharply sculpted.
Arbgear Detail
The textured finish is applied only to the Arbgear parts, making a clear distinction from the bare parts. The blue and silver paint is applied meticulously.
Body Parts
The silver parts of the torso are mostly Arbgear, characterized by a rough, textured finish. The color timer is hidden, so there are no exchangeable parts.
Waist Area
The Arbgear on the thighs is made of soft material for flexibility.
Arms and Legs
The Knight Beam Blade on the right arm is precisely recreated. The limbs' length and thickness are almost identical to Mebius. The arm design is asymmetrical.
Back
The back features detailed sculpting consistent with the rest of the figure.
Options
The Knight Beam Blade effect is included, using clear parts for the blade. An exchangeable right forearm without the Knight Beam Blade is also provided.
Knight Shoot Effect
This effect part is integrated with the wrist, requiring a wrist replacement for use. As a bonus, a damaged version of the Mebium Blade effect for Ultraman Mebius is also included.
Comparison with Mebius
The proportions are nearly identical to Mebius. The body shape and joints are similar, offering the same range of motion. Like Mebius, the waist rotation is limited, making it difficult to achieve dynamic combat poses.
Kicks and Poses
The joints are sturdy, allowing for one-legged stances. The Knight Beam Blade deployment is unaffected by the soft material of the thigh armor. However, the instruction manual advises caution with deformation or interference, suggesting that a pull-out style hip joint would have been preferable.
Knight Shoot
The shoulders can extend about 45 degrees, but achieving this pose is challenging.
Kneeling Pose
Kneeling poses are possible, adding to the figure's versatility.
Mebius Duel
Using the bonus parts, the Mebius Blade can be shown as broken.
Double Beam
The figure can perform the double beam pose, adding to its dynamic display options.
Summary
The S.H. Figuarts Hunter Knight Tsurgi is a well-executed figure with proportions and body shape close to Mebius, maintaining a uniform look when displayed together. The Arbgear's textured finish and careful painting add to its appeal. While the limited waist rotation is a minor drawback, the figure is otherwise highly poseable, with various included effects enhancing playability. The convenience of the pull-out style hip joint seen in other figures would have been a welcome addition here, and it is hoped that future Ultraman figures will adopt this feature.
