Bandai Tokusatus Action Figure SHFiguarts Cyclone 1 (Kamen Rider THE NEXT) Review
The Cyclone from Kamen Rider THE FIRST was originally released in 2010 during the old Figuarts series lineup. This new version has been completely re-sculpted to match the Shinkocchou Seihou Kamen Rider 1 (THE NEXT).
While the updated sculpt brings it closer to the on-screen design, the difference isn’t as drastic as the improvement seen in the new Kamen Rider 1 figure, since the original Cyclone was already well-made.
Paint & Finish
The white sections have a strong gloss finish. The red parts feature a metallic sheen, giving the entire bike a sleek and polished appearance.
Functionality & Features
As expected, the handlebars and front wheel are linked, allowing for steering motion. The rear suspension includes a working spring mechanism. Unlike older bike releases, this model uses a stand joint attachment, so there are no direct peg holes on the underside.
Detail Enhancements
The front cowl has a rounder shape compared to the previous version, and the area around the headlights has been improved with finer detailing. Clear parts have a higher level of transparency than before.
Side details, including engine components, have been sharpened and refined for a more realistic appearance. The mufflers feature gradient paintwork, adding depth to the finish.
Seating & Compatibility with Shinkocchou Seihou Kamen Rider 1
The foot pegs are positioned slightly high, requiring significant leg bending to seat Kamen Rider 1 properly. Getting the figure into a natural riding pose can be tricky, as the hips need to be raised quite a bit. Sitting fully flush on the seat is difficult, but with careful posing, a decent riding stance is achievable.
Included Accessories
Bonus part: A hand-held Hongo Takeshi/Kamen Rider 1 mask (THE NEXT version). Handle grip hands: Two types included—one with all fingers wrapped around, and another with two fingers extended.
Comparison with the Previous Cyclone Release
Size remains roughly the same, but detailing has been significantly improved. Unlike the diecast-enhanced original version, this release does not use metal parts, making it notably lighter.
Summary
Originally released under the THE FIRST name, this Cyclone 1 (THE NEXT ver.) has been completely resculpted to match the Shinkocchou Seihou Kamen Rider 1 (THE NEXT). While the riding pose takes some effort to set up, the improved form and detailing make this an impressive upgrade. The paint finish is excellent, and when displayed alongside Kamen Rider 1, the pair looks fantastic together.
Given how well this turned out, it’s highly likely that Cyclone 2 (Kamen Rider 2) and even V3’s Hurricane will be released in the future. Looking forward to seeing those next!
